Winter weather will be on its way in the near future and we want to inform you of important winter weather information. First, if school related closures are needed, families are notified through our messaging system. It’s important to have your contact information up to date in Parent Portal to receive these messages. You can also find closure information on the district webpage and on TV through local news stations. If you need to update your information, please log in through Parent Portal to make the corrections. If you need assistance logging in to Parent Portal, please contact Haley Kachinske at the district office by completing the Parent Portal Activation Form on our website.
Each year our district works with Cloquet Transit to provide a winter bus route option for students who are traditionally within walking distance. This option runs through most of the winter season and ends in early spring. The first step in this process is identifying the most appropriate bus stop locations for interested students. If you are currently within walking boundaries and would like to have your student(s) access the winter route, please call Cloquet Transit at 879-1291 and let them know you are interested. The deadline for notifying Cloquet Transit is November 15th. We hope to begin the routes on November 25th. Cloquet Transit will notify you of the pick up and drop off locations and times once they are established.
If your child is already on a bus route, you do not need to do anything. Your child’s route will remain the same unless notified by Cloquet Transit.
The Sawyer Center will be closed today - October 9th. Please make alternate arrangements for after school bussing.
The RBC will be closed today September 30th for training. Please make alternate arrangements for after school bussing.
Just a reminder that Back to School Conferences and Open House will be Thursday, August 29th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. CAAEP is 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. During this time, you and your student can visit classrooms and meet with your teachers.

A reminder that 22nd Street in Cloquet is closed and currently under construction. Fans, students, and athletes should access the high school athletic complex using the entrance on the north side of the CHS gym on 18th Street until construction is completed. Thank you for your cooperation.

It is with great excitement that we share that Washington Elementary School has been recognized as a National ESEA Distinguished School for their efforts in serving American Indian students. They are one of only two Minnesota schools receiving this honor.

Ava Carlson at the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association banquet receiving her All-State Award. She was also a top 5 finalist for Ms. Baden (like Ms. Volleyball – a career award given to the top senior volleyball player in Minnesota). It went to a player who is signed to play at the University of Minnesota next year.
With the warm temperatures during the day and cooler overnight temps, we are anticipating there could be patchy icy roads in the morning for the coming week or more. Please plan extra time and take extra care when heading to school in the morning.
