  • Increase in Illness & Absences

Student Absences continue to rise due to illnesses including diagnosis of Influenza, Influenza-like illness, Strep Throat, as well as other general coughs and colds. Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, headache, fatigue, body aches, a few with vomiting and diarrhea. Influenza and other viral illness spread rapidly. Please be reminded to keep your child home when they are not feeling well - this prevents others from getting sick and helps your child get well sooner. A fever over 100.0 with a cough or sore throat is considered “Influenza-like illness”. As with all illness, your child is required to stay home until fever free for 24 hours without a fever reducer.
