Health and Nursing Services

Our Health Services Team is led by two Registered Nurses, Licensed School Nurses who are licensed with the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Each also has her Public Health Certificate.

Each school is staffed by either a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

A Professional Licensed School Nurse (RN, PHN, LSN) is available to all district school sites on a full-time basis.

Health Services Duties

  • Provide routine and emergency first-aid care to students and staff with illnesses and injuries.

  • Provided care to students with chronic medical conditions as delegated by the LSN.

  • Maintain documentation of immunizations and other health-related services.

It is our goal to provide health-related services that strengthen the educational process, in partnership with parents, the community, and school staff.

Fact sheets provide prevention and control information on common infectious diseases seen in a school or childcare setting such as chickenpox, COVID-19, impetigo, pink eye, and head lice and strep throat. All standards follow recommendations by the American Public Health Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Cloquet Public Schools follows the infectious disease guidelines as outlined in Hennepin County. Click the link below for the manual on Infectious Diseases in Childcare Settings and Schools.
