    Beach Rules

    1. No children under the age of 12 will be admitted unless accompanied by an adult or responsible individual. 12 years and up can come alone, but please swim with a buddy.
    2. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult while in the water.
    3. Lifeguards are provided to help prevent accidents and ensure patron safety, but swimmers are responsible for their own health and safety.
    4. All swimmers must shower before entering the water.  Any person having an infectious or communicable disease, open blisters, cuts, sores, or infected eyes is not permitted in the water. 
    5. Swimmers must wear appropriate swimming attire (no cutoffs).
    6. Swimmers not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper or plastic pants and a swimsuit.
    7. All swimmers,age 12 and younger, must wear a lifejacket while in the water. Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices may be worn in the water. We do have lifejackets available for rent.  Sizes: infant, 0-30 lbs., Child 30 - 50 lbs., and youth 50 - 90 lbs.  Cost is $1 for rental and available at the front desk. Limited sizes. 
    8. Snorkels are not permitted. 
    9. Running, rough play, diving, spitting, and foul language will not be allowed.
    10. Smoking and alcohol is prohibited in the Beach area, as well as in Pinehurst Park.
    11. Animals are not allowed, except assist dogs.
    12. Food purchase is available at the concessions stand. Eating is restricted to the concession area and picnic areas behind the sidewalk surrounding the Beach.  No glass items are allowed.
    13. No outside food may be brought into the Beach area.  Picnic tables are available in Pinehurst Park outside the fenced Beach area.
    14. Cloquet Community Education and Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
    15. Patrons will promptly follow all directions as given by the Beach at Pinehurst staff.
    16. Safety breaks are taken for 5 minutes every hour on the hour and for 15 minutes at 2pm and 5pm.

    *6 years and under need to be supervised by an adult that is in the water with them

    *12 years and up can come alone, but please swim with a buddy.


    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Can I bring food with me to The Beach?
    No. Outside food is not allowed into the fenced Beach area.  We have a concessions stand available for food purchase.  There are picnic tables available outside The Beach area in Pinehurst Park where you may enjoy a picnic.

    2. Can I bring a lifejacket for my child?
    Yes, it must be a U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation device. Any swimmer, 12 years old and under, must wear life jacket while swimming.

    3. Are swim masks and goggles allowed?
    Yes, but snorkels are not allowed.

    4.  I'm not going to swim, can I get in free?
    No, all persons entering the Beach area are required to pay admission or have a Beach swim pass.  This applies to swimmers and spectators.

    6.  Where is The Beach located?
    The Beach at Pinehurst is located just off of Highway 33 and Carlton Ave. in Pinehurst Park, Cloquet, MN.
    Just 20 minutes from Duluth: Take I-35 south.It is approximately 17 miles.
    On Highway 33 Turn at the stoplight at Carlton Avenue into Pinehurst Park and then turn right to get to the parking lot for The Beach. Click here for a map.
